Trio Mediaeval nominated for Grammy Award After having received enthusiastic reviews right after its release, the CD Folk Songs was now nominated for a Grammy Award. The Scandinavian folk songs, recorded by Trio Mediaeval together with percussionist Birger Mistereggen for the ECM label, have been nominated for a Grammy as "best chamber music performance". The awards ceremony will be held on 8 February in Los Angeles.
The news about their nomination reached Anna Maria, Linn Andrea and Torunn upon their return from a highly successful US-tour. The New York Times wrote about the Trio Mediaeval's performance: "(...) these three voices blended with a supernatural clarity and beauty that might cause even a confirmed agnostic to contemplate a spark of divinity in these centuries-old manuscripts."
